Thought you might like to see some of the photos from this past weekend’s Style Saturday event at the Central Charlotte Lowe’s store. “The Nester” and I did the event together, and I just love seeing her. (I guess we can call her Myquillyn. She’s a world famous author now, you know. . . )
We had a great turn-out, with lots of girls (and two guys) showing up to make the DIY projects.
The Nester brought these cute wallpaper tapestries. (What an easy way to hang pattern on your wall!)
Who knew Lowe’s had so many great wallpapers online?
I shared an easy nautical-inspired rope memo board project:
(Do you know how much I love getting to meet some of the people who read my blog? It reminds me why I do this every day.)
While everyone was busy making their projects, the Nester and I did 30-minute design consultations throughout the day:
People brought room photos and fabric samples, and we were able to make some quick design boards for them and walk around the store to help choose paint colors and show them some product examples.
A big thanks to everyone who stopped by! If they have one of these events at your local Lowe’s store, it’s a great time. (You can follow them on Facebook to see event postings.)
Next, I’ll be listing my store poster on Ebay. . .
Totally kidding, by the way. . . I have the perfect wall for it my garage :)
Tomorrow, I’ll show you how to make the rope memo boards.

Oh my, how I wish I lived near that Lowe’s. That would have been the PERFECT girls day out…and Emily Clark and The Nester in one spot?!?!? What a fabulous event!
I just want to tell you again, Emily, thank you, thank you, very much for doing Style Saturday! My friend and I loved meeting you and Myquillyn, and we had a great time making the crafts. We love what you ladies do to inspire us, as well as “keeping it real” at times. My friend and I couldn’t stop talking about meeting you and Myquillyn to our husbands, all weekend long! :-)
I’m sure your husbands were super excited ;) So fun meeting you!
Still thinking about painting??
Yes, I am definitely going to paint. Thanks for the ideas!!
How fun, looks like a great turn out.
Please come do an event at my local Lowe’s – St. Charles, MO!!
That is SO cool! You are one stylin’ lady.
Looks like a fun day! I love meeting readers also…they make you feel special:)
Looks like so much fun!!
Emily, do you ever browse/shop “The Black Lion” in the Charlotte area? I live in north GA, and have been once. My living room is laid out almost exactly like yours and I hope to do some rearranging thanks to your blog:)
I haven’t been in years. It’s not extremely convenient for me.
Looks like you had a great time. The wallpaper tapestry is a great idea – such a fun way to use up wallpaper scraps. This makes me want to frame some wallpaper or fabrics for my gallery wall!
You are so stinkin cute! What a dream that would’ve been to make crafties with you and the Nester!! Thanks for sharing photos, neat to see what went on! ~Kim
Thanks :) Wish you could’ve come.
It was a wonderful event and you were even more warm and lovely to meet in person than I could have imagined. Of course I like to think most of us Kentuckians are! :o) I got paint samples mixed up based on your paint chip suggestion to match my fabric sample and I look forward to sharing the results with you. Best – Teri
