Having a retail space at the antique mall has given me more freedom to buy something because just because I think it’s a cool piece, even if I don’t have a clue where I would use it in our home. But, there have been more than a few occasions where an idea hits me as I’m walking around the house, and I end up taking things from my booth to use around here. Suddenly, I’m sweating, worried that someone will buy it before I can get back there to pick it up. That must mean I really love it. . .
The brass trunk is one of those pieces. I don’t know if I’ll hang onto it forever or sell it eventually, but for now, it has found a spot in the little corner of my office—and gives me more surface space by my reading chair.
I’m also giving a live orchid another go. . . Under $10 at Wal-Mart, so I couldn’t resist.
(If any of you are interested, the larger brass trunk is still available for sale here.)
