Earlier this week, I got to try my hand at food photography, thanks to a friend who just started a new bakery business with her daughter and needed some photos of their treats.
Fortunately, turtle bars are pretty cooperative subjects.
I took the photos at a local market in our downtown, where she fills the bakery case each week. It was the first time I’ve visited, and I loved the green paint color they used throughout and how everything was displayed.
I also learned that there’s a community garden behind the building, where you can rent your own gardening plot for the season. I would love to do this with my kids one Summer, but I’m not sure we’re there yet. . .
A few gardens were even decorated :)
There’s also a fun photo-op wall on the building next door. My photography assistants were a little less than enthusiastic. . .
Provisions by Sandy Creek is located right in the middle of downtown Belmont, NC. You can swing by right after you visit my booth at the antique mall and make it a day :) I bought some fresh baked bread while I was there, but I hear their chocolate milk is the best ever. . .
I love watching your kids grow! I also love watching them tolerate “Mama” and “what is she making us do now?”. So funny. Great pictures.
What a yummy day! Love to see local businesses flourishing.
The baked goods look delicious . Love that photo-op wall.
That sounds like the perfect little outing with my crew. I prefer trips under 30 minutes at this stage!
You rocked that food photography….maybe another career:)
Hi Emily, I want to be there!!!!! So charming and all that delicious food! Thanks for this post!

What a fun idea for a community garden. Those turtle bars, and all of the treat, look amazing!
What a beautiful space! Food is waaay easier to photograph than 2 year olds, am I right? :)
Yes, for sure! (But maybe not as cute. . .)
We’ll be moving into the Belmont area soon. Love seeing the highlights of these amazing local offerings and businesses. Can’t wait to check out your booth in person!
We love Belmont :)
