I’ve been intrigued by the idea of Stikwood since reading about it several months ago. It’s a reclaimed wood panel product that “sticks on” to your walls with adhesive. Then, I saw that Amy of Swoon Interiors recently used it in her kitchen makeover project:
The planks come in different finishes, and you can determine how many you need on their website.
I love how it warmed up her little breakfast nook:

Filing this idea away. I have a few spots in mind where these might work around here.
You can see more of Amy’s beautiful kitchen makeover on her blog.
I took the IKEA flooring that I had in my tiny kitchen, (which I replaced with hardwood) and glued it to the bathroom wall for the planked wall look. It covered up the damaged drywall, and recycled my flooring, and it looks just like this!
Great upcycle!
I love the look of wood on the walls. There is another great product out there that is actually wood tiles. Easy installation and made from recycled barnwood or hardwood. You just use tile adhesive to mount them on virtually any surface. http://www.eandstile.net is where you can see the tiles. Lots more options in terms of patterns and you can see a few projects I have done with them on our blog. They are awesome!
Thanks, Erin. I’ll check it out. Wondering about this for our laundry room instead of stripping the wallpaper in there…
WOW! who knew? this is an awesome idea- thanks for sharing! we have a wall in our playroom i want to do something to, but haven’t decided what. so it’s sat there for a few months with some tape on it…
Absolutely LOVE how this turned out.
It’s nice to see an attractive home-application for this product. On a slightly different note: Emily, do you know of any affordable solutions to attain a traditional wainscoting or beadboard look for on the lower portion of walls? I’ve recently learned about beadboard wallpaper. I’m not sure if it can truly pass “muster” or if it’ll just look cheap & fake. Do you have any experience with the beadboard wallpaper – or any other affordable suggestions?
Brooke,
Kim at SavySouthernStyle.net has used it. Check it out on her website. I think it’s in her kitchen next to the kitchen table which is in a post on 5/12/2014.
I don’t have any experience with the wallpaper, but my friend just did her bathroom in “sheets” that look like board and batten that she bought at Home Depot. I think they were around $40 for a sheet, but I can’t remember. I’ll take pics when she’s all finished.
PS–Google Rhoda’s blog Southern Hospitality. I know she’s used beadboard wallpaper a couple of different times.
That turned out gorgeous! WOW. I cannot wait to see if you end up doing it. I’m sure it will be beautiful.
I love that! We’ve planked a wall in our bedroom with regular wood and nails but the thought of just sticking it to the wall sounds like maybe an easier alternative. Plus the rustic color of the wood is neat too.

Love this!!! I agree it really warms up the room. That color is perfect too!
