Quick Tip For Creating More Polished Abstract Art

May 12, 2014

I’ve seen a lot of black and white abstract art lately. (I even made some of my own.) I like pretty much all of it, but there’s something about this one that jumped out of me:

Such a simple trick to recreate the look of a “cleaner” abstract. Skip the mat and use painter’s tape before you start painting:

(I used the flat side of poster board, and the tape peeled right off when I was finished.)

Beautiful! Did you have this professionally framed? If not, what frame did you use. It’s so perfect!

So gorgeous but still simple and not overdone. My son is a little artist so he makes “abstract” art all the time and I can just picture us both doing our own version of this together and hanging on our wall. Thank you for the inspiration!
