Chandeliers With Texture (3 DIY Ideas)

May 6, 2014

I’ve been toying around with the idea of adding a little something extra to our chandelier over the kitchen table. So far, I’ve draped a few strands of beads over it that I found at the flea market. But, here a few DIY ideas that I think are really interesting for dressing up a basic light that add some texture at the same time.

1. String wooden balls in three different sizes and drape over a simple chandelier.

(This one reminds me of ours. I think I could duplicate this!)

2. Wrap a chandelier in rope.

(Looks a little tricky, but I love the nautical feel.)

3. Create a driftwood chandelier.

I’m not sure how feasible this one is for me, but I think it’s beautiful. And, I’m intrigued by the fact that the base is a hanging basket from the garden section of the hardware store. (There’s not a step-by-step tutorial on this one, but there is a photo of the supplies used in the link.)

These are all so unusual, love them! Anxious to see what you come up with. Did your booth sell out over the weekend? :)

I like the wooden beads. It’s still classic in shape but has a modern vibe to it. Perfect for a breakfast room.

Love the idea of wooden balls. And if they’re just strung on, you could easily remove them or change them out.

Love these ideas! Lighting is so expensive so it’s always great to find beautiful (reasonable) diy projects. I especially like the idea of adding the wooden beads.

That driftwood one is so neat! I’m not sure I could pull it off, but I may just have to try it! Thanks for sharing!
