As I’ve gotten older (and had more kids), I’ve come to realize that the bathroom is more than just the bathroom. It’s sometimes the only place of solitude I can find in our entire house. I hate to say it’s my retreat, but some days. . . Really, any space with a lock on the door is good enough for me. That being said, it would be nice to have a really pretty spot where I can shower, get ready, hide away, etc.
But, for now. That’s not the case.
Remember what our bathroom looked like when we moved in?
Nearly three years later, and it still looks exactly. the. same. So, if you’re not hiding away in the bathroom of your dreams, you’re not alone.
That’s why I was excited when Lowe’s asked me to team up with them to provide some design advice for a reader who has a bathroom that could use a little help (just in time for Mother’s Day!). Show me why your bathroom is in need of some love, and if yours is chosen, I’ll come up with a (design) plan of action for you.
{THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED FOR SUBMISSIONS.}
If you’d like for your bathroom to be considered, please send up to three photos, along with a short description of why it makes you crazy, to emily@emilyaclark.com by Monday, May 5th. I’ll choose one and create a design board and sources that I’ll share on the blog next week. Can’t wait to see your photos :)

Thanks to Lowe’s for sponsoring this post.
love that second bathroom!
Is Lowe’s going to sponsor the makeover for the winner?
Hi Alexa, The prize is just the design plan. Hopefully, it’ll give someone a good idea of where to start :)
Thanks! LOVE your blog!
Can I submit two bathrooms?? Both of ours need help!
I’m not getting your blog in my email anymore. I tried to sign up again but it wouldn’t let me. It said that I am already signed up. Are you aware of any problems like this going on? I love following!
Sally, I’ve had a couple of other people tell me this recently. I’ll check into it with my tech support person. Thanks!
I am in love with that second bathroom as well. My bathroom is not super ugly at the moment so I won’t enter lol
Whew, this is perfect for me! Just sent an email and three pictures. Hopefully, I captured the ugliness in all of its glory. I could definitely use some ideas- never hurts!
What a nice idea! Thanks for the opportunity. It was difficult to narrow down to 3 pictures since our bathroom is 3 separate rooms (very chopped up design-ugh!) but I tried to give as much perspective as I could. The wallpaper in there alone is enough to make anyone go mad! ;o)
Oh my! Thank you. I sent my photos in. I’ve been stressing over my bathroom for the longest.
I love your blog. I just emailed you some photos. I also have a weird set-up in my bathroom with a little separate room for the toilet and shower and three long closets. Difficult to decorate.
