Alright, my Northern friends. Please humor me while I talk about our beautiful blizzard of 2014. They say this is a once-in-every-ten-years event around here, so we’re trying to soak it all in. My parents, who have been visiting since last week, were suppose to leave this past Wednesday but got stranded here. Good for us; not so good for them. The snow is a beautiful sight to behold, but it’s all kinds of crazy with this many people in one house, with no way to go anywhere…
We’ve been drinking lots of coffee, working puzzles, playing Monopoly (my least favorite board game in the universe!), eating, watching the Olympics, and drinking more coffee. Fortunately, we were all stocked up on bread and milk, but I’m down to my last roll of paper towels, which is giving me a weird anxiety. I love paper towels.
I even managed to read a book in between eating brownies and watching ice dancing. The Southern family is a unique creature, for sure, and now I feel like I know Sophie’s personally.
And, finally, happy Valentine’s day! It is Valentine’s day—right? I feel like I’m in a time warp when I stay in the house for so long. Anyway, to celebrate, here are some deals from my sponsors that you may want to check out. . .

Omg that is exactly how I feel about paper towels! I get anxiety when I’m down to my last roll lol and I feel the same way with the toilet paper
If Canada sent you their snow, than surely it must look like the Bahamas, or not.
1. I feel the same way about Monopoly.
2. Since I’m not from nor have I ever lived in the south, I enjoy reading books that take place there, so I’ll have to try that one.
3. If you replace paper towels with microfiber cloths (reusable, washable), you will never run out or have the fear of running out of paper towels.
Hope you thaw out soon!
I’m a sucker for being snowed in. We have batches of hot cocoa, good books, movies & snuggles. Your home looks beautiful “winterized.”
I loved watching all of that snow fall! It was such a gorgeous day, filled with lots of coffee!
Sorry y’all are all snowed in and almost out of paper towels! That sounds like torture when you throw in the never-ending game of monopoly. ha
I am going to read this book for sure, love my southern roots–there’s a lot to laugh about.
Too funny… I also get a little anxiety when I run out of paper towels. I don’t know what it is, but I use them for everything. I guess when you have kids, that’s a given! So NC is getting a lot of snow! We were all set to watch the Duke game and then it was cancelled.
I ran out of paper towels the other day and kind of freaked out so I know what you mean. We try to be “green” in a lot of other areas but I need paper towels for our house to function.
Enjoy your snow since its not all the time.
That snow is beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful! Sounds fun to me! lol. We don’t get snow…so i totally “get it”. Ha.
Seems like we all share the same anxiety about running low on paper towel! So glad I’m not alone! LOL!
