I’ve been keeping an eye out for a brass serving cart lately, but ended up finding this cute metal one from Kirkland’s instead. Since it’s a piece I’ll probably end up only using when we have company, I thought the green was a fun choice. (And, it’s “chippy” so it has a little character.)
I’ve always liked the idea of having a little entertaining cart to pull out for casual breakfasts, a dessert station or an after-dinner coffee bar. I’ll probably end up using ours on the patio when it gets warmer.
I have to confess that while I was putting this post together, my seven-year-old daughter leaned over my shoulder and said, “Do you pretend we really eat like that?” Well, in my dreams, we do. . .
More photos and sources for our breakfast room can be found here.
Thanks to Kirkland’s for providing me with a gift card for this post.
I’m so glad you shared this! I have a Kirkland’s gift card and have been eyeing that cart.
So pretty! And your daughter’s comment made me chuckle – too cute!
great look. kirklands…who knew?
Haha! So glad you shared your confession! My 7-yr-old daughter would have said the EXACT same thing. And, my 9-yr-old son frequently complains that the couch is no place for pretty pillows “It’s for sitting, mommy!”
Looks so pretty…you would never suspect two toddlers were in their highchairs right off to the side :)
That’s exactly right :)
I LOVE that cart! How much was it? Also, would you use something like that as a night stand or something other than a bar/breakfast cart too. Just wondering.
LOVED your last little confession. Good to know you are normal. :)
It’s on sale for $69 right now (link is in the post). It’s pretty light-weight, so I think it would be better for a serving cart than a nightstand, especially if you were needing something to put a lamp on.
I had my eye on that cute cart. It’s so cute in your kitchen. I am dying over what your daughter said. So funny. So true over here!
What a happy little bar cart, Emily! I just love your style. Never woulda guessed the cart was from Kirkland.
I love this…and it’s fun to pretend sometimes, right?! My husband always calls me out on “pretending” when we have company. He thinks he needs to announce that we only use real dishes and cloth napkins when we have company. True? Yes, but, really, must we tell everyone? He totally blows my cover!
I love this cart; it’s really cute! The way you have it styled makes me feel like I need a breakfast cart too- so pretty!
Leave it to the kiddos to keep it real! Haha! Cute cart!
I laughed quietly at your 7 year old’s comment. Not only my 8 year old son but my husband too has similar comments when I am styling/arranging for photos.
Haha! I love your daughter’s question. Also, the cart is a beauty.
You have styled it beautifully and I love the color. A great piece!
I love all of your blue and white vases. Would you share where you purchased them?
Thanks from a fellow mom of 5!
Hi Terry, So far I’ve been lucky enough to find it all at consignment and thrift stores.
That cart is so darling! What a great find! It looks right at home in your breakfast room. And how funny is your daughter?
Love it Emily :) So cute that your daughter said that to you too ;) xo Kristin
This is darling! I love the color of it and how you styled it. Also, I love how you shared what your daughter said, since it’s really the way we would love things to be presented, but in reality it doesn’t always look this good.
It kind of reminds me of that one from Ikea….so cute and of course the color is perfect! I need to get back on my blue and white hunt….need some bigger pieces. Leave it your kids to call you out huh:)
loving the green of the cart. Works great against the yellow curtain. Been thinking of purchasing a cart and finishing with looking glass spray paint to give it that mercury glass finish or maybe in gold mercury glass ( http://hmhdesigns.wordpress.com/2012/03/19/diy-gold-mercury-glass/).
you just made me laugh out loud. Can I pretend I eat like that too? Those bagels would last 8.3 seconds in my house. I’d blink and they’d be gone. sigh….
