Last night, I had the chance to attend an event hosted by Kinfolk Magazine at West Elm Metropolitan in Charlotte to celebrate the release of The Kinfolk Table cookbook.
(I went as my friend Jodi’s date.)
Everything was beautiful, but simple, and I snapped lots of pictures that will hopefully give you some good ideas in case you’re hosting Thanksgiving or throwing a dinner party soon.
The table was decorated with a low arrangement of Fall flowers and lots of elements of nature. Scattering greenery clippings and acorns along a textured table runner is a great way to decorate a table without guests having to dodge a tall centerpiece.
I do believe that even the food I’m capable of making would seem fancier if I printed out a simple menu.
Keeping all of the dishes white lets the food be the center of attention.
After dinner, we were treated to dessert, a coffee bar and live music. (That would be a nice touch for your Thanksgiving dinner, right??)
Each guest left with a small bouquet of Fall flower wrapped in paper and twine.
What a fun and sumptuous evening!
How fun and what a pretty wrap up. Yep. . .I am all about my food looking fancier with a menu. A trick I am not afraid to use {even mac n cheese looks pretty in a fancy font!}
Looks like so much fun! I love west elm- they really partner with some amazing people and companies…. and their stuff is purrrdy.
So so so pretty! Love the simplicity of it all. I have all white dishes, so I could work towards creating a similar tablescape. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks for sharing some great ideas, I’m always up for a great tablescape! And, having those beautiful rustic tables to work with doesn’t hurt anything either.
That looks like so much fun!! I love the decor and even the simple white plates. LOVE! So fun for you!!
What an amazing event! Is that a West Elm table? Or two of them together? I love that rustic style.
I believe it was several of these lined up together:

Wow! Looks like so much fun! My head is now spinning with ideas for our Thanksgiving table this year!! BTW…your West Elm is so much better than Durham’s. I have been to both! xoxo
Wow, wish I could have attended that :) Thanks for sharing those beautiful ideas!
That is all soooo lovely!
I love the KINFOLK magazine and events. Hoping to attend one myself someday!
I so wish I had the energy to set such a beautiful table! The food looks yummy and glad you had a night out:)
All looks so good and the set up is so cute!
Emily, you looked SO beautiful!
Thank you, Esther :)
Looks great
Oh how fun … a night out, gorgeous setting, delicious food … yep, nothing wrong with this!! xo
Looks like so much fun! And I’m sending the hubby out with his chainsaw to rustle me up some of those tree stump centerpiece things. (Is there a more sophisticated name for it than that?)
That looks like it was such a fun event. Kinfolk + West Elm is a great pairing.
