When I registered for wedding gifts thirteen years ago, I didn’t take a lot of chances and asked for all white dishes. They’ve served me well, but I love the idea of having a second (patterned) set to mix and match. (Plus, most of my original white plates and bowls have bit the dust thanks to lots of little, unsteady hands.)
So, I was thankful for the chance to partner with Mikasa recently. And, when they let me choose my pattern to create a pretty table scape, I went a little bolder but still classic with a mix of cobalt blue and white.
Their Cadence collection in cobalt worked great with the blue and white pottery collection I’ve started. I also mixed in touches of silver with chargers and little dessert cups.
For my table, I used a mix of the crisscross and zigzag accent plates. (I’m a fan of mixing and matching lots of different patterns on a table, actually.)
I love that this collection can be dressed up easily for a dinner party, but is casual enough for every day use. In fact, I’m thinking of ordering another set of six plates so that we can start using these on a regular basis. (On second thought, maybe I need more than six. . . )
Need some blue and white for your table? Mikasa is giving one of my readers six place settings from the Cadence Cobalt collection. (The winner will be able to choose between the zigzag or crisscross patterns for their accent plates.)
This giveaway is now closed. Congrats to the winner:
Thanks to Mikasa for providing the dishes for this post.
