Did you all see the farmhouse designed by Jill Sharp Brinson in this month’s Better Homes & Gardens? There are so many fun details there, including an easy way to update a baker’s rack or open bookcase you may already have.

She just hung a pretty fabric on the wall behind it. I’m all for an easy update that can be done fast. Like today.
She also hung fabric on the wall behind these twin beds with a curtain rod. I love how it makes a simple headboard seem like something grand.

If you’d like to see more angles of this house than just what’s in the magazine, Rhoda of Southern Hospitality was lucky enough to tour it last year and posted her pictures here.
I’m signing off until Monday. Happy Mother’s Day weekend! I’m going to spend mine doing motherly things like going to soccer games and dance recitals.
Happy Mother’s Day. Hope it is super special and Blessed. Hugs, Marty

Emily, there were some great ideas in the Better Homes and garden article, I too liked that fabric idea.
I hope you have a very happy Mother’s Day with your beautiful kids!
Oh my gosh- going to throw some fabric behind my hideous bakers rack right. now.
Love the fabric behind the beds. So stylish
Thanks for posting this Emily. I just purchased a few yards of a lovely discontinued fabric and I’m trying to figure out the best use for it. Great inspiration!
Happy Mother’s Day! Enjoy all those beautiful children. We had out of town family for the weekend.
I love the fabric hung behind the bed headboards. What a great idea to bring coor and texture to a room.

I love this post! Some of these I have never thought of, but I did just do this very thing in my new baby girl’s nursery! I think it might be fun down the line as she grows, maybe behind a twin bed! PS- I am sleep deprived these days and don’t get to comment often, but your blog is on the homescreen of my iphone and I read it daily =) Hope you are well Emily! xoxo Shelli from a’la mode
Here is how the fabric is hung behind the crib:
