Okay, fellow Bachelorette junkies! (I know you’re out there.) A friend forwarded me pictures of “Little Ricki’s” 7th birthday party at Emily’s house here in Charlotte earlier this summer, and I knew you’d want to see. (No sign of “One-F” Jef. I guess he was still in hiding after the show wrapped.)
The theme was “glam camping” and was put together by the amazing design team of Anders Ruff. “Glam” would be accurate. I don’t have the heart to show this to my six-year-old, or else she might realize her Barbie cake and McDonald’s party wasn’t as spectacular as I told her it was. That, and she might start stalking Little Ricki for an invite to next year’s party :)
A little peek of her house. I tweeted Emily and asked if she would consider a house tour for the blog. (You know, since we’re both in Charlotte. And, our names our both Emily. And, we both thought Arie was incredibly handsome . . . ) Yeah, she didn’t respond.
And, if you thought the food spread was good, check out the party favors. They seriously rival a swag bag from the Oscars (almost). Or, maybe I’m the only one who sticks a bouncy ball, some stickers and Pixy Stix in a cup and calls it a day???
Each girl received matching pajamas (these cute custom ones–not the Little Mermaid ones from Target), handmade headbands, “Camp Ricki” water bottles and a flower cuff. Heck, I want to be friends with Little Ricki.
Here’s wishing Little Ricki a happy 7th birthday, and hoping we get to see pictures of your 8th!

(Btw, you can find a complete list of sources—and more pictures from the party—on the Anders Ruff site.)
Wow! I am not even sure what to say. That is one crazy birthday party. Is it wrong to be jealous of a 7 year old? :)
That is adorable! Thanks for sharing!

this was fabulous! big fan of Emily and the show so this was fun to see!
I am totally a Bachelorette junkie:) I hope she gets back to you about the house tour-I would love to see it!!!
FYI…I did not notice an engagement ring…or did i miss it? I think she should do a house tour on your blog..it looks beautiful!
Hi Emily, What a cute party! Her house looks fabulous, she should totally take you up on your house tour offer, you have so much in common. ;)
PS: I’m with you on the pixie sticks and bouncy ball favors.
Um, yes. Bachelorette is one of my guilty pleasure TV shows. This was such a beautifully styled birthday party. At the same time, it sort of makes me feel guilty that most of our parties are here at home, with homemade cupcakes, small treat bags, and a game of Pin the Bow on Hello Kitty or something that matches the theme. ;) I think it’s awesome if you can provide such a lovely party for your kiddos, but hope people don’t see images from “professional” parties and spend money they don’t have trying to keep up….
Emily, you’re too funny! I have now been converted to a “glamping” fan, but I still like how you keep it real ;)
So cute! I’d love to see a house tour! She has a beautiful home! Thanks for sharing!!!
I guess I am a minority…and I definitely think it is all beautiful. But, I guess I feel like not everything needs to be “styled” Kids are messy and organically creative…Not sure the grownups need to have everything so perfect..Just saying…
Love your blog….
I feel a bit like a slacker…a few years ago…I actually even stopped doing party bags!
But you know, this little girl looks very happy and VERY loved and however you choose to celebrate the Birthdays…that ALL come too TOO fast…it is all about the LOVE right!
Happy Birthday Little Ricki…!
Thanks so much for sharing this. I am such a fan of Emily Maynard, and I loved seeing this super cute party! Crossing my fingers that she’ll let you tour her home!!!
Too much! I think if my parents had thrown me parties like this, the rest of my life would have felt disappointing in comparison. I liked the worm party that John and Sherry threw for Clara on YHL-cute, fun, and inexpensive.
Thing is—if you do a party like for a seven year old then every year it has to be improved on. Stick with what you are doing all you ordinary Moms out there!
I am a huge Bachelorette fan and I think Emily handled her role with class. I would love it if she gave a house tour for your blog. From what I have seen on TV, her house is beautiful. Thanks for sharing the cute party pictures with us. I am sure Emily made Little Ricki feel very special on her big day!

I follow her on Twitter and saw the tweets awhile. Ack Bout this party! I spent half a night pinning the images ;) but I’d venture to guess it was all paid for ( and not by Emily) and she probably did very little to contribute… To each their own, right :) I tend to be one that goes a bit ” overboard” but I pay for it and do all the hardwork z( which I love and is all for me:)) with my birthday prince or princess and while we are making memories together it gives this stay at home Mama a big sense of pride to know it was our own creation! I’m dying to see her house def. looks like she has great taste! Emily, hope you and Jef are reading! ;)
well i guess that puts our backyard birthday parties with the home-made obstacle course to shame. but i can guarantee that i was more relaxed before the guests arrived. better not show the pictures to my littles or they will be jealous. heck, i am just a wee bit jealous.
I think that was a nicer party than my own wedding reception! : ) My kids had parties (where they could invite friends) every other year and the off years they got to do something special with a friend. With four kids, it sure helped doing it that way and I don’t think they felt short changed. Our budget always dictated what I could spend and I’m thankful for it. I think it would be difficult to not go over the top if I could financially.
Love your blog : )
Wow! This is definitely quite the party. Love all of the details — and the pink!
Emily, you amaze me! I live right here in Charlotte and have never heard of these wonderful people! To happy to know about them. What a cute party! I think I need to step it up a notch for my children’s birthdays! LOL!
I need to come over and visit one day soon!
I feel like a good Mommy and a bad one all at the same time. I made cute little fabric treat bags for little one’s third but that is where it stopped.
That was an adorable party but maybe a bit over the top.
Here’s my takeaway, I am not at all going overboard for my kid’s birthdays, regardless of what my husband claims. Also, kid birthday parties have just become vehicles for wedding-appropriate desert tables, seriously, what kids eat that many macarons, cupcakes, “trail mix”, cake…

I have to admit I struggled to see where the ‘camping’ theme came in until I got to the custom-made pyjamas part and was like, ooh, that’s what they are…. the clown-collar ruffles had me all confused! Super cute party tho! I still believe the good old macdonald’s barbie party is just as much of a winner! And way less wastage too… :)
I am impressed with the styling of the party, but call me dud, I can’t see this as a reasonable party for a 7 year old, (unless she is an heiress and never will need to live by a budget). I suspect more planning was done by YOU for your daughter’s party then the Bachlorette did for this. This was done by a service (all be it an excellent one obviously). Ultimately, we make our own joy and its never too soon for a child to learn this.
Looks like a lot of fun. Love the details! Hope we see a house tour- fingers crossed.
What a precious party! It all looks wonderful, my only qualm is that the little girl on the end (in the pajama pic) did not have a set of matching pajama’s. I felt bad for her, but she didn’t seem to care!
OMG, I want to be friends with that little girl! I’d happily accept that same party theme for my 34th birthday coming up. Is that weird? :)
LOVE THIS… so cute and huge fan of Emily
Well that is a really nice 7th birthday party!! I wonder where Jef with one F was. Maybe he came later to do an awkward puppet show!! I am a bachelorette junkie too so thanks for the post! xoxo Elizabeth
