Thought you might enjoy seeing some of the pretty flowers that my friend Carey (who happens to be a really talented wedding and event floral designer) brought over last week in an effort to “fluff” my house for a little photo shoot for a local newspaper.
You know my love of orchids, so we ditched the fake and dying ones that I had for some fresh ones.
She also brought several succulents—a.k.a “the trendy flower of the moment”. (She said she’s even started having brides request succulent bouquets.)
And, some pretty hydrangea blooms that she left for me to enjoy :)
You can see more of Carey’s beautiful work here.
Gorgeous.
so pretty!
LOVE Carey Roberts! She did some of our wedding flowers and an orchid for my hair- a seriously talented florist!
These flowers are exquisite! I didn’t know succulents were the current trend! A photo shoot, now, with 5 kids? you are amazing and a true inspiration. Best of luck. Your home is so beautiful.

All so pretty. And another photo shoot . . girl you are super woman. My kiddos like to fluff our home with flowers picked from their walks to the park. Just doesn’t quite have the same effect ;)
THE FLOWERS ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!
XO
STAY COOL!
@Elizabeth and @Aleigh, I agree! Carey is the best. We also go to church together.
That huge orchid is to die for… love it! They are all beautiful actually and what a difference they made in your already beautiful home.
You are still amazing me with your posts with 2 newborns, plus a photo shoot, even if you have help, you are doing awesome! :)
GOrgeous!!!! Fresh flowers always brighten up a room.
Pretty. That’s exactly what my house needs right now. Maybe I can at least start with succulents. That way, I also get a piece of Phoenix (where we moved from). I want to see the rest of your house! :)
Pretty. I killed my orchid….I am searching for a fake one now. Maybe I should get succulent – I think I can keep those alive!
What I noticed was that cute brass bell on your desk, my kids {even though there are teens} would be hitting that bell all the time!
Hope life with 5 kids is treating you well!
Emily so pretty, it makes one want fresh flowers all the time.

beautiful emily! do you know what to do with a dying orchid? mine just shed it leaves and I dont know whether to ditch it or see if it can be revived?
I love orchids too, but I’m just not so good at keeping them alive. :( I have to work on that!! The fluffing with the flowers looks amazing. Can’t wait to see the results of the photoshoot. You are so talented! Love your home.
I love fresh flowers, they’re always right for any decor or space, anytime.
Beautiful! I love what fresh plants and flowers add to any room. I always treat myself to a fresh bunch…even from the grocery store…as a little treat! They make me smile while I am cooking and cleaning…:)
Hi Emily
As always I love everything you do!!
Where did you get the milky glass containers that have the succulents in them?
hugs!
Those are all so pretty! Love the orchids!
beautiful!!!!
Your home is so beautiful. The flowers give it that extra “Oomph”!!
@Crys I got the milk glass at a flea market, but Etsy and Ebay are good sources, too.
Wow! What beautiful flowers and gorgeous styling! :-) I love the succulents! And hydrangeas are so pretty too!
I love succulents! I’ve had them in my rock garden for years. I’m not sure about a succulent bouquet though??? Hmmm.

Good Lord…the flowers are beautiful and the photography is just as pretty…. as is the styling. Emily….you amaze me.
So beautiful. I have covered an area of my garden with succulents but never even thought of bringing them indoors. Brilliant!!
I need a Carey in my life!
I need a better camera! Oh yeah, and some fresh flowers.
I had a succulent bouquet for my wedding this past September and loved it. They have been some of my favorite plants for years and I love that people are starting to use them more and more.
