A Punch of Pink in the Dining Room

April 2, 2012

When I used this chair in raspberry in an online design plan for a client’s dining room last year, it seemed like a bold choice.  With the exception of my daughter’s room, I haven’t used a lot of pink throughout our own home.  However, I’m seeing it pop up more and more on dining chairs and I like the energy it brings to a room:

Want to give this look a try without spending lots of money?  Here are some inexpensive options:

This  might be my favorite look.  I love the boldness of painting the frame the exact color of the fabric.  (I wish I had a clearer picture and a source for you—anyone know?)  This would be a great way to make over a set of old dining chairs.  Instead of searching for a fabric, you might even want to consider painting the existing fabric, using a method like the one by Kristy I featured here.

And, if you don’t want to invest in upholstered chairs, here are a few options for more casual dining at a great price. . .

Have you infused your dining room (or any other space) with a bold shade of pink?

Perfect timing for this post Emily! I’ve actually chosen pink as the color to incorporate into my dining room as part of a blog challenge I’m a part of that kicks off tomorrow. I’m excited and nervous about the color at the same time :D

I LOVE that pink is incorporated in these spaces without it looking too frilly or girly. I’m thinking I should make some pink decor investments now while I’m still single! The future hubs can’t nix the look if I already own it! ;)

I believe it is from Black and Spiro design. The owner has a blog, absolutelybeautifulthings.blogspot.com. Isabella and Max Rooms had a post about how to find the source of images which was the only way I knew how to find this. http://isabellaandmaxrooms.blogspot.com/search/label/Sourcing%20Images

I do love the pink chairs, my husband would immediately put the kibosh on them though:(

Loved Ruthie Somers’ ice cream parlor inspired breakfast nook. So cheery! And I think she was one of the first to put handles on the chairs. Great post!

i have a bar space in my living room and the kelly green bar is flanked by white chinoiserie chairs with david hicks la fiorentina magenta/pink pillows. this is very bold, esp for my ultra conservative husband, but i love the unexpected fun and modern vibe it adds to the rest of our house. pink is a mood lifter for sure!

I am a huge fan of that. We always seem to have pink flowers and a hot pink dish towel somewhere in the kitchen. Happy Monday.

You are right it does bring some good energy to a space. I think for a temporary look or if I was having a party, but not for all the time in my life. I do love all of the above options and I think it adds a touch of whimsy. Happy Monday,

Beautiful images…I have never used pink or raspberry but am loving the look from these pictures. I think I will buy some pink flowers and fill a vase for the kitchen table. After all, as the Queen of my Castle(only girl in the house) I deserve a little pink here and there!!

I’m loving the pink chairs! Would your husband go for it? I don’t think mine would. But those pink garden chairs could rock my backyard! Great roundup!

There’s just something about that raspberry pink that adds such a happy feel to a room – not too girly or baby-ish, it looks so chic :)

I love that first chair-of course I’m really digging anything that’s velvet lately. I can see my kids fighting over who sat in which color chair on that multi-colored pic, but I still think it’s a fun idea.

I wanted to infuse pink in my new office in the form of drapes, but instead went with Robert Allen Kiki Pinata and am not sure so I like what I have lol. It’s a very bold print and I’m still getting used to it I guess.

Right now Design Within Reach (dwr.com) has a sale on their perforated steel classic Marais Armchair in hot pink. They are structually and visually beautiful. Orignally $525 now on sale for $157! I’m thinking of getting them for extra seating side chairs in my dining room.
