After my post on making use out of small spaces, Elizabeth of Little Black Door left a comment sharing how she took a little corner of their home and made it a cozy art gallery.
Here’s the space before (complete with a “time-out chair”—well, that is functional, in my opinion!) . . .
And, this is how she transformed this little spot with a cheery pillow, a few accessories and lots of personal photographs and artwork:
I think the idea of hanging artwork corner-to-corner is a great one. Makes such a big impact in a small spot.

What a difference a gallery wall can make. I love the corner to corner display.
What a great transformation! And yes, I love that she ran the art around the corner.
Oh My Goodness – what a transformation! Full of love and joy! Perfect. Thanks for sharing – great job. Have a wonderful day

I love how she kept the same 2 pieces of furniture and added everything in around it! Fabulous use of space.
Looks great, I have a wall at the top of my stairs that needs attention. This could be the answer. Thanks for the great ideas!

What a great little corner — I actually have a similar one in my living room. Darn corners. I’ll have to remember this :)

Wow! That is amazing what she has done with this little corner. Thanks for sharing this.
Hi Emily! Love, love, love your blog :) I just finished a book nook for our little girl and posted some before and after photos on my blog: http://anaproposbeginning.blogspot.com/2012/02/book-nook-complete.html
I’m loving this sweet little space!
Congrats on the twins :)
Wow- what a transformation! I love the corner gallery wall idea too! I have to look around my home now, for a good corner to try this!
This is such a sweet space. Even I wouldn’t mind going to time out in that corner. :-)
Oh I LOVE it! I am such a sucker for a great gallery wall!

Gorgeous! What a transformation. The gallery wall made a huge impact in that space, I love how she hung the art corner to corner. Off to check out her blog!
That was a great makeover to share Emily!!!
What a transformation!
This is so perfect…thanks for sharing.
Hi, Emily, I am new to your blog. I was NOT expecting such a lovely makeover! The thing I like the most is that she kept the little table and the chait, matched the (mismatched) frames to them and now it all blends in!
