Besides putting up our tree, I spent some time sprucing up our front porch this weekend. My goal with holiday decorating is to spend as little as possible.
Besides adding some fresh greenery (from our yard) to a wreath I already had, I also took my kids in the wooded area behind our house to collect fallen limbs. (Yes, they thought it was lots of fun and no one poked their eye out. . .)
Once I had our collection of branches, I sprayed them white. My parents did something similar last year and it looked so wintery. . .
I did buy two Allen+Roth black planters from Lowe’s and two Dwarf Alberta Spruce trees that will hopefully last year-round.
I liked the white branches so much that I even brought some inside. Will show you that later this week.
Very pretty! I shared mine today too. I meant with a more traditional look, but I love the white branches in yours!
Looks just beautiful girl!!!
Looks gorgeous. I love the lanterns and white branches.
The Lanterns are my fav! I did branches outside too but never got around to spraying them. Like the white, how fun and wintery!

It looks so great, Emily! I love the new planters and greenery! And spray painting the branches white give it the perfect wintery touch! Love it all!
I love the white branches. I added some branches to some planters on my deck. Now I’m thinking I should spray them white!
Looks wonderful Emily, love that is is frugal but looks so festive!…Thanks for inspiration!
Classic and beautiful as always!
Looks great, and at such a great price!
Looks great!
branches are so amazing for decorating…silvery ones are even more amazing!
Very pretty. Such a beautiful entrance.
I’m completely concerned that my porch is going to look like a big fat copy cat tomorrow (couldn’t get life together to post it today)! Except we don’t have sticks here in South Florida, so you win the nature portion. I win at Easter with my palm fronds. :-) Looks awesome!
Love it! the branches really set the ‘wintery’ feel. And a fun project too! :) I just did our front planter too if you wanted to see :)

Oh thank you! I was picking my brain over for an idea, and this is perfect. Hope you don’t mind! Very clever.
What a great idea! It looks great. The dwarf Alberta Spruce will live for years as long as you water them!
I totally agree with you about spending as little as possible on Holiday decorations. I thought you might enjoy seeing what my daughter and I did for our front walk way this last weekend. It only cost a few dollars for the red berries. Everything else was free! http://yourdaysimplified.com/walk-up-our-winter-wonderland/
Hope you have a great day! Jesus is the Reason for the Season!
Oooh looks lovely!
Hey, that’s what we did tonight, too–collected branches for Christmas decor!
Looks great Emily! Who doesn’t love that the branches are free and with a little white spray paint your good :)
Emily, I’m constantly amazed at how much you can do with so little. (I mean that in a nice way.) The porch looks just beautiful!
Lovely. The white branches are such a pretty winter look.
Your porch looks great! Love the branch arrangement! I created a similar, fun one with lit branches. Feel free to check it out!!
