You Have a Minute to Win It

October 5, 2011

When it comes to birthday parties, I’m all about easy and inexpensive.  (Remember that $60,000 party Taylor threw for her little girl on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?  I almost couldn’t breathe. . . )

Anyway, the birthday boy himself came up with the idea of a “Minute To Win It” party. (My kids love that show.) It required little planning and a few cheap supplies and was a hit. We got ideas for the games here.

The “elephant march” was their favorite game.  There’s nothing quite as entertaining as sticking a pair of panty hose on your head and trying to knock over water bottles with a baseball :)

And, if you run out of games, 7-year-old boys are always up for tackling each other. . .

A good time was had by all :)

Thank you so much for sharing! My kids love that show, too, and I’m going to keep that idea in my pocket for the next birthday party. Perfect for a winter birthday in the park district gym!

    Ok — here’s what I got:

    1. You’re such a designer, you totally had those pellegrino on hand, didn’t you?

    2. No wonder you know you’re staying put, your neighborhood is gorgeous! Not to mention the little ‘swimming hole’ up the street. ;)

    3. the party looks so fun, and just perfect.

    4. Now I have a huge urge for a ding dong thanks to your ‘elephant’ pic. thanks.

I was just walking around with panty hose on my head the other day thinking that surly there could be a use for these :)
