On My To-Do List

September 30, 2011 22 Comments

There’s no such thing as relaxing around here.  Between ballgames and birthday parties, I’m hoping to work on our house a little this weekend. . .

I’ve managed to add a little Fall to the front porch, and hope to bring some of the season inside as well.   I finally tossed my Pier 1 fall wreath after 8 years.  The fake leaves were literally dripping their colors off on the front door every time it rained :)

(Notice one of my Big Lots garden stools is yet another color.)

If I get really ambitious, I plan to tackle a gallery wall in our entry.  The frames are purchased and sitting by the front door now (just to remind me of things I probably wont’ get finished. . ).

I started taping (and taping and taping) and spray painting this lantern I picked up at Habitat Restore last week.  It’s going to take some major touching up before it gets installed in the office.

And,  most importantly, we’ll be celebrating this sweet boy’s 7th birthday this weekend.  He’s a good one :)

What are your plans?

PS—Check back tomorrow for a fun Halloween giveaway!

PPS—Good news! I’m able to pick up a few, new online design projects for Fall.  Please contact us for more rates and details.

@Wives–That’s exactly the color I used to paint the lantern. Great minds …. :)

@Kim My purse is an el cheapo. No brand–I think it came from Ross or TJMaxx.

Sounds like a fun weekend–and I am agreeing with Kim…I am a little jealous of your big lots garden stool.

Hi Emily — I can already picture how awesome the lantern is going to look. And those mums are so full and luscious. You were lucky to find ones that are just budding. (I can’t here.)

    Happy Birthday to your son!

Well that looks like a lesson in patience having to tape off every piece of glass in the lantern. I hope your son has a fabulous birthday!

Emily–thanks for your comment on my blog. Here’s the link to those delicious pendant lights my client found for her kitchen: http://www.arcadianlighting.com/svh-7-730-1-13.html. They come in chrome too…..I think my next white kitchen may have to include these! Have a great weekend with your projects :)

look forward to seeing the reveal of that light – i’ve contemplated a makeover of those 80s brass fixtures before but never jumped into it. i’m sure it will be a stunner!
