It’s always fun to see online decorating projects come to life. I love getting pictures of the finished rooms (or even small updates) in my inbox. So, it was a special treat when I actually got to see one of my online projects in person recently. Earlier this year, I helped Kelly, a friend of my cousin, with her master bedroom in DC. The baby shower that I attended just happened to be at Kelly’s house, so you know I, of course, took some pictures of her progress while I was there.
I suggested she add a black, oval mirror above the bed to soften the straight lines and to tie in the new black nightstands.
We found the pillows on Etsy, which will eventually be paired with a khaki and white pinstripe duvet:
And, a final look at her view from the sitting area. Even on a rainy day, it’s such a bright, happy spot.
Amazing how fresh it looks just with these changes. Love the canvas!
I love those pillows! Where are they from?
You have both done a fabulous job, the space is so light, fresh and welcoming. I love the bedsides, and the addition of black and the cushions has really lifted the room.
She has done great with the canvas too. Thanks for sharing!
The bedding is going to be gorgeous! Love the pillows and that canvas.
Love the transformation so far. Can’t wait to see it all put together. She is quite the photographer. Love the idea of turning a photograph into a a work of art.

I love your moodboard!! Where can I get those nightstands?
The room looks beautiful with the updates you suggested. I love that she used her own photo as artwork to personalize her space.

Beautiful touches! The photo as art is lovely and a wonderful interpretation of your idea. Great job to both of you!

Great job! I’m starting to think the orchid is your signature item. I see it in most of your boards and around your home, too.

The room is beautiful! I love your suggestions and can’t wait to see it all come together. She’s done a wonderful job, too – love the large photograph/canvas idea. I am having the same problem lately: too much brown. Thanks for the inspiration – now I have a few ideas for my own room! :)

Fantastic! I fell in love with the lumbar pillow as soon as I saw it! I’ve searched high and low for the fabric, but can’t find it anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas of where I might find that print?
