I’m in the process of finishing up a client’s master bedroom but couldn’t wait to show you a few pictures I snapped while I was there last week (at night; thus, the poor lighting). You may remember the original design board and bedding fabrics I blogged about here.
I won’t give you all the details just yet, but this room was purple when we started and still had all of the (recently married) client’s childhood furniture.
An IKEA Malm chest with a little added bling:
Maybe it’s because they’re newlyweds, but the husband agreed to replace the ceiling fan with one of my very favorite chandeliers from Overstock. . . (He’s a good guy.)
More details–and better pictures–once this project is all wrapped up.
Oh it looks stunning. Can’t wait to see the whole thing.
Give him a few years and he will want a recliner :)

Emily, watching your work evolve gets me more excited for our projects in March!

OMG, Emily! I can already tell that this room is fabulous! That the fabric used is sooooo pretty! I ordered samples of it and wished I had somewhere to use it!

Oooooh, keep up the great work on this fun project — and you know I’ll be moving back to Charlotte this weekend and we’ll be closing on our house soon…. which means REDECORATING! I may just have to use your brain! :)

It looks good! Can’t wait to see it finished! i just posted about my boys’ malm dressers I added some jewelery to also! I think they look so much better with hardware on them!
Please, please tell me where the black and white duvet and pillows are from.
I love it all, especially the dresser with the wedding photos!
That fabric is unbelievable. Love!
I’ve been having a devil of a time trying to find hardware for a dresser I’m refinishing. Where were you able to source the beautiful pulls on the Malm piece?
the drawer pulls make a huge difference on the Malm chest!
Coming along great … excited to see the finished product!
I. Need. That. Mirror. Absolutely gorgeous!!! Where did you find it? And maybe those chests. How tall is the bed that you can use a chest next to it instead of a nightstand?
Also, what does it mean on the website when it says, “This furniture must be secured to the wall with the enclosed anti-topple device.” ??? Isn’t it sturdy enough to stand on its own? I can’t believe the difference between the picture on IKEA and the picture on your blog – love the bling!
I really like the mix of patterns on the bed. It looks so pretty.
OOOh, so pretty. I love the chandelier and the update on the Ikea furniture, I wish we had an Ikea close. I can’t wait to see the final product.

“Maybe because they’re newlyweds” – that is too funny (and probably true!). Love the sneak peek of this space. The IKEA chest looks great and that mirror is fabulous.
I almost didn’t recognize my favorite MALM chest with the bling… love it! I love the chandelier too!
I love the bling on the Malm and have been looking for a similar pull. Can you share where you got the pulls from? Thanks.

I spy my master bedroom Dwell fabric in a different colorway! GORGEOUS.
I applaud the newlyweds for tackling their master bedroom ’cause we all know that when the kids come along ours is the last room in the house that gets any tlc. Beautiful job!!

It’s looking great! I would have loved to have that room as a newlywed!
Oh so pretty. Love the linens and the chandy. Can’t wait to see all of it. Gorgeous. Hugs, Marty
Your blog looks great! That Ikea chest looks like a million bucks- where are the pulls from? Smart client to get the master done during the newlywed phase :) Trying to get the hubs to let go of the ceiling fan in our master has been like turning off a UK game right before half-time :) It. ain’t. easy!
beautiful choices. If I could only see what YOU see when you look at fabrics — combining fabrics is such an art. the same color palette helps but could I combine all these patterns on my own? any chance of doing a short tutorial on your blog?
I love what you’ve done with the Malm! It looks so sleek.
The added bling is brilliant and so is your new-and-improved blog. Bravo! xo
What a gorgeous room! The fabrics are beautiful and the chandelier is stunning. Really nice job, Emily. I look forward to seeing the whole room!
back again, wondering if you might use one of those Simple Vera Vera Wang quilted coverlets you posted earlier, to add a pop of color. not sure about the pattern with the duvet, however.
Oh wow, looks amazing all ready!…can’t wait to see it all done.
Love the upfitting of the Malm — so clever. And isn’t Overstock the best for lighting?
Where can I get that chandelier?
I love that bed! I must know where you bought it.
Love all the elements! Can;t waitto see more.
Enjoy your day

Emily, it looks amazing! And I love the new blog design. I read in my Mail using an RSS feed, so I am just now seeing it. It looks great!
Emily, the images are so soothing, I felt myself relaxing just looking at them. I have never been one to use neutral colors, but I love how you’re using accessories with wonderful patterns and a slight touch of color to pull together this look.
Love it!
I was wondering where the bed is from? It is beautiful . . .
