Disclaimer: Read nothing into my recent interest in and posts on nurseries. I just love finding new and fresh ideas for kids rooms. Really.
I’ve found another nursery floating around blogland that I completely love. It’s no surprise, since it was designed by my talented blog friend, Sherry Hart. Do you read her blog? She’s a seriously talented designer and the queen of finding incredible items at flea markets. And, she’s pretty hilarious. Anyway, you should read it.
She recently helped one of her expecting friends convert her guest room to a nursery, using some of the same key elements. The result is a warm, relaxing space that’s kid-friendly without screaming “BABY!” I’m a huge fan of kids rooms that include fun elements without carrying a strong theme.

How adorable is that!! So different…that’s a room you’d see in a Dream Home! Lovely post!
both rooms are incredibly, I would actually love to have that bedroom, LOVE! Im saving this post Emily, thanks for sharing!
I love it! We’re making a nursery and that little yellow table would be perfect in my space. I’m using the grey and white fabric in this space as well. I also love the mobile…. it’s different and I like different.
Thanks for sharing!
I absolutely love it all!
Love the room before and after! Both have enough interesting details but are still laid back. Thanks for sharing!

These spaces are great. The barn door is so spot on.

Girl I adore Sherry’s work! I was so excited when I found her blog!!! This nursery does not disappoint. You’re right, the mix of rustic and modern pieces are perfect for the space. I love the colors used in the room!
I can’t wait to meet her one day:-)
Sherry did do a great job on both of these rooms, didn’t she? Love her work!
Those barn doors are killing me! They’re stunning. I really love what she did with both rooms. They feel modern and clean but manage to be warm and rustic too.
I absolutely love the way the nursery turned out. Its sophisticated without being too adult.
Love, love, love! I want that headboard asap!!
Going to check out her blog now!
I’m so glad you posted this….
I am SO in love with the guest room…and the nursery too!
I so wish Id been a blogger back in the days when my girls(now 5 and 7) were babies. Their nursery would have looked VERY different!:) Love the photos.
Oh, great feature and Sherry’s blog is always a hoot! Happy New Year, Emily and best wishes for a great 2011! Oh, and I love your disclaimer :)
That is my favorite nursery that I have seen! I liked the room before, but wow!
What a gorgeous nursery. She transformed that space beautifully. The barn board adds the perfect touch! I think I am going to save this in my Tumblr file {not that I am in ANY way needing a nursery!}
I adore Sherry’s work! The nursery is perfection!
Just started following your blog. Both rooms are beautiful. Not in the market for a baby’s room yet either—but definitely gives some inspiration for the future. Simple. Lovely.

I love this room! I like how the headboards match…it’s so sweet. The rustic, whimsical feel is also really modern and elegant with the lighting and colors. Any baby would be a lucky one to have this room! My friend just found out she’s pregnant and we’re redoing her nursery…I’ll have to show her this one for inspiration!
Wow! What a change. Headed over to her blog right now.
the nursery is pretty much perfect in my eyes. and the room was fantastic before. going to check out her blog..
This is absolutely wonderful! Like you, I like a more mature nursery.
What an awesome transformation! I love the abacus wall art!
adorable. we are on nursery duty ourselves. I love the nursery but I LOVED that guest room.
Emily, I love Sherry’s designs aesthetic and her killer sense of humor. When I saw this nursery I could really see how she does things outside the box. It is probably one of my all time favorite nurseries and trust me I am not even close to doing a nursery unless it is for one of my grandchildren!! Although You on the other hand make such pretty baby’s, I’m just sayin!!
Thanks for coming by today and joining in the fun on my giveaway and blogaversary!! So glad that you follow along with me!!! Kathysue
Great post! Thanks for sharing and introducing me to Sherry’s blog! My favorites are the doors and the light fixture. I’m new to the blog world and I have received so much inspiration from you!
That is a gorgeous unique nursery! I love the mix of rustic, pops of color, touch of modern with kind of a whimsical touch to it. It is fabulous!
Soooo cute!! Love love LOVE the rustic doors! Thanks for sharing Emily!
I had to re-post couple of images because this is too beautiful! Thank you for sharing and introducing me to Sherry. xo
That is one beautiful nursery! Love it! I take it by the blocks positioned to say “war eagle” that they’re Auburn fans :) My best friend is an Auburn alum :)

Wow, I would have moved into that guest room happily! The nursery is perfect- I just love it when a nursery is a happy place for both mom and baby (what new mom wants to spend time in a room with filed primary colors or princesses/airplanes ?)
Both versions of the room are stunning. I love the barn doors and the color palette. However, the “modern take on the mobile” will need to come down before the baby can pull herself up. It is actually a strangulation/hanging risk if the baby got caught in it. Sorry to be Debbie Downer, but that’s the first thing I noticed in the picture…
That is so pretty. I love that it doesn’t scream ‘fisher-price’. It looks so stylish and something a child could grow into.
so glad to have stumbled across your blog! as an interior designer myself i LOVE seeing great and inspirational work of others & i’m esp loving your nursery designs -could also be because i’m pregnant now too =) I love rooms that don’t carry a strong ‘baby theme’ either, just hints and cute patterns/accents such as the rooms you’re showing. Awesome job – i look forward to checking back from time to time =)
Beautiful! Did she paint the crib? Any chance you can tell me the color?
