I love the look of all-white bedding, but I also like adding an unexpected color to warm things up–especially during the cold, winter months.

I recently found these pretty coverlets from Vera Wang’s “Simply Vera” line at Kohls.com for an online client. They come in three great colors and have a modern quilted circle pattern. Best of all, they’re on sale right now ranging from $72-$89. Perfect for layering!
Do you change your bedding with the changing seasons?
…….
Thanks to Abbe at Studio Ten 25 for featuring my home on her Christmas Open House series today. Check it out here.
Yes! We actually change our sheets to flannel when the weather gets cold. BTW, love your source for great looking bedding. Never think of Kohl’s when sourcing for a client! M.

I am about to go buy some flannel sheets today but that’s about the extent of our bedding changes. I love those Vera Wang throws.
I also love white bedding! In winter I have a brown blanket that goes on then end of the bed till we pull it up to go to sleep. It warms up the room and bed when it’s cold but I still get my white bedding. Thanks for sharing, I’m always looking for ideas to make our room look better!
For sure! During the cold winter months, I use my heavy down comforter and change out the duvet covers every now and then. During the hot summer months, I just use coverlets.
I don’t want to be too hot or too cold. I luv the splash of color. I do that in the guest bedroom.

I was just thinking that (about color) earlier this week – we are in the midst of blizzard-like conditions so I layered our normally white/ice-blue sheets with a silvery-brown velvet coverlet over the white duvet. Dark brown pillowcases on two of the pillows helps tie the look together and visually warms up an otherwise chilly-looking room in winter!
Those throws are lovely!
Those coverlets are really pretty and so is your new pic !!
Great inspirations! I love the simplicity of a soft bedroom with a hit of colour. I’m deciding what to do with mine at the moment, this has been some great inspiration!
Such beautiful pictures. I love the gallery walls with black and gold frames! And I just scored the lamps in the second pic from Marshalls…why does that feel so validating to see items from your own home in ‘professional’ settings?
I have a coverlet on our bed that’s pale blue on one side and choc brown on the other…so I just flip it with the season. Now that’s frugal! :)
I just love Vera!!! Pretty much everything she does is amazing, but I’m with you on this onel…what a gorgeous texture/pattern! (c;

I’m famous! I’m famous! That’s me … the “online client”! And I already bought the green one. It’s shipped. Can’t wait to get it. :)
We have a couple different duvet sets that we use, and a coverlet. I always change them based on my mood. But I should think about changing it seasonally too. I love the look of fresh, new bedding!
i like to change it up a bit so i for sure switch out my duvet cover and pillows twice a year. i have a few pair of sheets that go with both sets.
I love an all-white bed, too. But I have two messy cats, so I stick to all white sheets with a green coverlet. These pictures are great.
I switch out my guilt from pale yellow to purple for the winter. It makes the room more cozy!
I don’t change up my comforter and shams for the season, but I do rotate through a few different pairs of sheets on a regular basis. I’m thinking about getting one of those faux-fur throws to put on the end of the bed this year, though. I could start switching up throws for the warmer and cooler months for some variety…. thanks for getting me thinking about all this. :)
I just purchased a new duvet, so that I could change my bedding for the season! Mine felt very summery and I wanted an excuse to change things a bit…I love that I can now switch them out anytime!
Yes! I use one side of my quilt that is blue during the summer and spring and the brown side during the fall and winter. I really need to get different sheets that go with the changing seasons though. {love your new profile picture, beautiful}
Beautiful! And on a side note your new profile pic…fabulous!
Those are such pretty throws! Too bad I can’t get my hubby to make the bed in the AM (I usually leave for work while he’s still asleep).
I saw those in the store the other day. They really are nice! My favorite is the blue.
I totally switch bedding out…I like light and airy in the summer and warm and bright in the winter!!
Emily, I am an all white bedding girl from way back. I add a touch of very, very pale blue at the foot of the bed and on my shams. I hardly ever change. I keep my bedding for yeeeeears!!!! I just love all white!! Kathysue
Your blog is so beautiful now…love all the changes. It is getting me motivated to overhaul mine :)
I love those coverlets too. I so wish I was on top of everything and switched out my bedding with the seasons, but nope, I don’t! I did however put the West Elm pintuck duvet on my wish list for Christmas though. :)
Love all the colors! Nice change for the bedding.
love the inspiration pics..
and LOVE the picture of you in the top right corner…that scarf is gorgeous on you!
I put one of those Vera Wagn blankets on my Christmas list! The “Pearl Grey” color is to-die-for!
Oh- those are great colors. I change my sheets to flannel or cotton depending on the weather. I’m partial to flannel though! My outer bedding stays the same year round, but I do switch out throws that I put on the end of my bed. Kinda fun to get new ones (:
I never used to change my bedding, but this year I changed our sheets to flannel (it’s cold in Indiana) and added new throw pillows and throw to the bed for Christmas, because our others were just too bright and summery.
I love love love flannel sheets. Amazing images.
