Capturing Memories on Canvas

July 23, 2010

When I originally saw this in Country Living, it made my head spin with ideas for our bonus room. . .

I love the idea of incorporating favorite family or personal photos in your home by making them oversized pieces of art.  This pariticular piece was done by CanvasArt.com.  My mom (who’s not a photographer, but should be) took this picture of a bridge near where she lives and had it put on canvas by the same company, with great results.
Ignore reflection on the canvas; result of my poor photography skills. . .
For our room, I would love to do something similar to the first image and use favorite photographs of our kids. Some possibilities (and a good excuse to show you pictures of the babies):

I think this would be a wonderful addition to the room! I totally love the look of photos on canvas…It also made me think of that great tutorial on the House and Home site for doing something similar….

I’ve been dying to try this out but haven’t had time yet.

By the way, LOVE seeing photos of your kiddies! Adorable! Your littlest one looks as impish as my Carys does…I bet those two could cause some havoc together :)

Have a fabulous Friday & weekend!

Love the idea…I had a photo of me and my daughter laying in the grass when she was 6 months old put on canvas and framed for her nursery (actually a family member gave it to us as a gift–and I love it). You have a beautiful family!

Your little ones are crazy cute!!! Love the idea of putting your own art on canvas. And the size of that first canvas is amazing! It really says go big or go home, doesn’t it?
